Even though the former Middle East Messenger nominally commited oneself to the regions of Middle and Near East, a look at the wider picture – literally to the second biggest Islamic country, India, – should be justified. The history of Islam in India is both, changeful and woebegone. The separation of Pakistan from India in 1947, for example, was gory, which resulted in a great loss of human life. Even today, the former conflict has not been solved as bloody riots between muslims and hindus of the recent past show. An interesting and partly controversial debate can be found here. The impacts of the separation are today known as the Kashmir-conflict.
