The oeuvre of Horst Schmidt<\/a> is being displayed since yesterday at both bowers, at the Eiermarkt and at the Hagenbr\u00fccke. And right in the middle, at least at the Jakobs-Kemenate, “Schr\u00e4ge Typen” are dazzling in the shape of the last supper 4 by Marina Schmiechen. A reminiscence of her exhibition which was displayed in 2019. For the exhibition opening the foundation Pr\u00fcsse asked around this thursday into the St. Martini church.<\/p>\n

It starts at the St. Martini church<\/strong>
\nSome might still try to cope with the abstinence of the last months. Both, the amount of the invited guests and the happy faces are evidence for the assumption that public events are still noticed as something special. The evening is hosted by a sculptor called Magnus Kleine-Tebbe, holding a welcoming speech. Background music comes from Eugen Wall. His music does not suit everybody’s taste as a look onto my neighbour reveals.<\/p>\n

Dr. Regine Nahrwold introduces us to the oeuvre and the different stations of the painter Horst Schmidt. Who listens closely to Nahrwolds words will retrace her emphasis on “quinces again and again”, “detailed presentation of water glases” and “Orientation on Giorgio Morandi”.<\/p>\n

Within the 17th century we learn the art tradition of still lives was born in the Netherlands. The term derives from the Dutch “still leven”. And it is exactly this form of art that is represented by the retrospective of Schmidt’s pictures which can be visited in both bowers until 31.12.2021.<\/p>\n

Tridimensional<\/strong>
\nAfter Schmidt opened the exhibition and the audience pleased itself with refreshments and munchies the crowd moves over to the Jakobs-Kemenate. What surprised me is the tridimensional way of the pictures. On these works the items and fruits appear as if they were standing in the room. The pictures do not have a great variety in motives but it might be rather the range of variation of the basic topic that is crucial here. <\/p>\n

An in between “Schr\u00e4ge Typen”<\/strong>
\nDefinitely you can’t get past the eyecatcher in the middle of the room. Unexpectly I suddenly face some well-known figures. For example Lady Gaga, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dal\u00ed, Coco Chanel and John Lennon. We look at the “last supper 4” by Marina Schmiechen, who is known for her figures the “Schr\u00e4ge Typen”. <\/p>\n

We finish the artistically stimulating evening with a glas of wine at the hotel bar of the Steigenberger and are already looking forward to the next exhibition opening of the foundation Pr\u00fcsse. <\/p>\n
