{"id":2731,"date":"2011-11-04T11:42:38","date_gmt":"2011-11-04T09:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/middleeastmessenger.christina-schlegl.de\/?p=2731"},"modified":"2017-12-28T18:10:31","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T16:10:31","slug":"prix-pictet-sterben-oder-einfrieren","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.christinaschlegl.de\/en\/kategorien\/kultur\/prix-pictet-sterben-oder-einfrieren","title":{"rendered":"Prix Pictet: to die or to freeze?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Upon a visit to the Botanical Garden of Madrid I came across a very interesting exhibition resp. prize by chance: the Swiss made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prixpictet.com\/about\/\" title=\"Prix Pictet\" target=\"_blank\">Prix Pictet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the foundation&#8217;s website, the prize &#8220;has a unique mandate \u2013 to use the power of photography to communicate vital messages to a global audience. The goal is to uncover art of the highest order, applied to confront the pressing social and environmental challenges of the new millennium&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The award winning photos are indeed very controversial in regard to the &#8220;1st Welt-3rd Welt&#8221;-Gap.
