In summer, the island is packed with tourists from all over the world. However, in Winter it is a dream: calm, sunny with mild temperatures and good conditions for hiking trips. I recommend the Serra de Tramuntana. It offers nice walking routes, like the Ruta de Pedra en Sec. I stayed in Esporles, it is a village in the mountains. In Winter time you will basically find natives here. It is great to watch how people spend their time here. It shows you the real Mallorca.
